Since the age of four, dance has always been Briana Releford’s first love. Having been trained in a variety of styles, all the way from ballet to hip-hop and tap to jazz, this art form has not only allowed this Texas native to break out of her shell but to escape to her dream world. Briana started dancing liturgical with her mom in their church home. She also attended many performing arts schools where she participated in multiple dance companies. Additionally, Briana has trained and performed with Houston’s premier hip-hop dance company, Soreal. She would later journey to The University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate studies where she served as president and choreographer of a performing arts organization for minorities- Front N’ Center. Her talents have brought her to the city of Los Angeles where she hopes to be a light in its dance community.
She has worked as a teaching assistant and instructor at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, and she now teaches dance to students at Coliseum Street Elementary and Maple Primary Center. She also offers a variety of pop-up classes around the city creating a space for all to come and move their bodies in a warm and welcoming environment despite their dance experience or lack thereof. Simply put, Briana has a deep desire for dance to be a safe haven for others similarly to how it has always been a safe haven for her.
